Resumen
Durante el primer año del gobierno de la Unidad Popular la Vanguardia Organizada del Pueblo (VOP), grupo nacido al interior de la tendencia rupturista de la izquierda chilena, asesinó al ex Ministro del Interior Edmundo Pérez Zujovic, generando una crisis política entre los partidos de izquierda y el centro político, además de abrir un abanico de dudas sobre su origen que se traspasó a la historiografía. ¿Qué camino había recorrido la VOP para llegar a dicha acción? Mediante la revisión de causas judiciales, testimonios de exmilitantes y prensa buscaremos mostrar la existencia de un escalamiento en las prácticas de violencia política desarrolladas por la VOP, donde la ejecución a Pérez Zujovic es entendida como un punto de llegada y no como un inicio. Asimismo, conoceremos las dinámicas internas de la violencia política y los debates al interior de la izquierda en Chile durante la década de los setenta.

Abstract
During the Unidad Popular’s first government, the VOP (People’s Organized Vanguard), group that emerged from the chilean left-wing grounbreaking tendency, kills former Interior’s Minister Edmundo Pérez Zujovic, generating a political crisis between the left and center, and also it unfolded several doubts about its origins that went through historiography. What was the path taken by the VOP to get to that action? By revisiting judicial causes, former military and press testimonies, we seek to show the existance of an escalation in the acting of the use of political violence by the VOP, where the Pérez Zujovic execution will be understood as a destination and not a begining. We will know the internal dynamics of political violence and debates inside the left in Chile during the sixties.
